Why Wix blogs don’t rank (and how to fix it)
The structural reasons most Wix blogs sit at the bottom of Google.
Wix has spent a decade fixing its SEO reputation, and the platform itself is now fine. Sites built on Wix rank. Wix blogs, mostly, do not — and the reason is rarely the platform.
The three structural problems
Almost every under-performing Wix blog we audited shared the same three faults.
1. Publishing stops after six posts
The typical Wix blog has 4 to 11 posts, all published within the first two months of the site going live. Google's crawl rate follows publishing rate. A blog that stopped in March gets crawled like a blog that stopped in March.
2. Every post is an island
Posts are written one at a time, on whatever the owner felt like that week. There is no cluster, no depth on any subject, and no internal linking between posts. Google has nothing to read as expertise.
3. Meta descriptions are left on default
Wix will happily publish a post with an auto-generated description and a URL slug that repeats the title verbatim. That costs click-through rate on every impression you do earn.
What actually fixes it
- Pick three to five pillar topics and write nothing outside them for the first ninety days.
- Publish on a fixed cadence — two posts a week beats eight posts in one week and then silence.
- Link every new post to two or three older ones, using the older post's target phrase as anchor text.
- Write the meta description by hand, under 160 characters, with the phrase a person would actually type.
- Update, don't only add. Refreshing a post that already ranks on page two is usually cheaper than writing a new one.
Ranking on Wix is a publishing-consistency problem wearing a technical-SEO costume.
None of this is difficult. It is only relentless, which is why we automated it.
